Why I’m Running for City Council
I’m running for City Council to serve my community and work hard on behalf of my neighbors. This position offers me the chance to address the issues and concerns that matter most to all of us. As a long-time resident, a career firefighter for 28 years, and with my wife being an educator for the past 8 years, I have a deep love for our community. I’m committed to seeing it thrive, and I believe that together, we can create positive changes.
Top Challenges and How I Plan to Address Them
One of the main challenges facing Virginia Beach is ensuring neighborhood infrastructure improvements, public transportation, affordable housing, and public safety, alongside a properly funded school system. I plan to address these issues through collaborative planning with strategic partners and public input. By effectively using the resources we have, we can make real progress in these areas.
Balancing Agricultural Land Preservation and Affordable Housing
Maintaining our agricultural green line is important, but we must also be open to revisiting this issue in the future to meet the needs of affordable housing and workforce development. I believe we can find a balance that respects our agricultural heritage while addressing the housing crisis.
Growth Strategy for Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach's growth and development should be approached collaboratively, taking into account the needs of public education, public safety, infrastructure, affordable housing, and workforce demands. I aim to bring these diverse perspectives together to develop a growth strategy that benefits all residents.
